Maple Remodel

Fritz ArchitectureMaple Remodel

Description 0

This modest three-bedroom, two-bath home was missing a connection between the living spaces and the backyard, as the only yard access was through doors in two of the bedrooms. In addition, the tiny office/storage area, created in a previous remodel, was becoming tight for regularly working from home. So the owners decided to add a dedicated office space at the rear of the house, and reconfigure the interior spaces to create a more direct indoor/outdoor connection. The resulting design opens up the center of the house to create an open kitchen/dining room with views and easy access to both the front and rear yards. A deck has been added outside the dining room and new office. Bedrooms flank the dining area with a master suite on one side and two smaller bedrooms on the other side. The former office/storage space has been made into a laundry/mud room, providing for storage needs with added shelving and preserving the existing loft storage. The existing kitchen and bathrooms are undergoing minor changes, while the original living room will remain as is.
