Description 0
Bear Republic Brewing Company has opened a new brew-pub in Rohnert Park. The project is occupying a 11,000 square foot space adjacent to Roberts Lake and includes extensive outdoor seating areas.
The patio has a new steel and wood framed roof allowing outdoor seating for a larger portion of the year. Outdoor seating areas also include an existing deck over the lake and an expanded beer garden with stage and kids area. The material palette at the beer garden includes decomposed granite and artificial turf ground surfaces, gabion benches, cor-ten steel and a wood fence.
The interior includes a new brewery, interior beer garden, ‘shipping container’ bar, dining room, new kitchen equipment and a tiki bar. A cast-in-place concrete wall topped with glazing separates the brewery from the public allowing the brewing process to be safely observed from the adjacent indoor beer garden. The octagonal space interior beer garden is topped by a cupola allowing light to pour in from above. The shipping container bar serves both the interior and exterior spaces allowing views through the bar out to the lake. New storefront windows in the dining room open up the view of the lake. The existing ceiling above the shipping container bar and dining room was removed to expose large glulam trusses.
The exterior also includes a new covered service area and silo. The existing rooftop cupolas and mechanical wells have been wrapped in perforated metal to give a more industrial look to the existing vaguely ‘Mediterranean’ architecture.
