A brief history of your neighborhood

I came across this interesting website today that is exploring the history of sprawl, and the regulations that have been encouraging sprawl type development over more compact, mixed-use neighborhoods. It also gives ideas for changing the sprawl-inducing regulatory system to level the playing field so to speak. So far 3 essays have been published: Setting the Stage, Zoning Regulations and Water. There are 5 more to come. It’s from Community Builders which is a project of the Sonoran Institute.
